Job summary

Ping Identity seeks a Staff Software Engineer to turn ideas into production capabilities within PingOne’s multi-tenant SaaS environment. You will design scalable Java microservices and secure APIs for authentication, SSO, and federation, while collaborating with product, architecture, UX, and SRE teams to deliver robust customer-facing services.

The role emphasizes strong engineering fundamentals, practical problem-solving, and adoption of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate discovery,

Qualifications

• Experience with OIDC, SAML, WS-Fed and federation integrations.
• Extensive software engineering in multi-tenant SaaS cloud services.
• Staff-level Java development with OO design and modern practices.
• UI development experience with ReactJS preferred.
• Experience building microservices and REST APIs using Spring or similar frameworks.
• Strong technical judgment and contributions to designs and architecture.
• Ability to mentor engineers and improve team engineering practices.
• Experience operating production SaaS systems and on-call incident response.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines and modern delivery tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver major features across PingOne Authentication and SSO services.
• Architect and implement secure Java-based microservices and APIs for authentication, authorization, and federation.
• Drive technical decisions balancing product requirements with performance and security.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, UX, SRE and other teams from discovery to production rollout.
• Improve service resilience, observability, and operational safety for mission-critical services.
• Raise engineering standards for testability, maintainability, and production readiness.
• Lead test automation and CI/CD automation efforts.
• Embrace AI-assisted development to improve speed and quality.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response leadership.
