Job summary

Baker Tilly Canada is seeking a Staff Accountant (CPA Student), Assurance & Advisory in Dartmouth, NS. You will work on assurance and tax engagements for owner-managed businesses, prepare tax returns and working papers, and assist with financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (Accounting/Finance major).
• Eligibility to enroll in CPA PEP.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Familiarity with basic accounting concepts (balance sheet, income statement, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Motivated, detail-oriented and proactive.
• Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving ability.
• Proficient with various computer applications; knowledge of Caseware/CaseView and TaxPrep is an asset.

Your role:

What you bring to the table:

• Completion of a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (Accounting/Finance major)
• Eligibility to enroll in CPA PEP
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Familiarity with basic accounting concepts (balance sheet, income statement, etc.)
• You are an excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills
• Be a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and keen attention to detail
• You have strong interpersonal skills and are an excellent problem solver
• You are proficient in, and willing to learn various computer applications
• Knowledge of Caseware/Caseview and TaxPrep is an asset (but not required)
