Baker Tilly Nova Scotia is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Dartmouth team, collaborating with Tax Partners and senior staff to deliver high-quality tax work for clients.

You will conduct technical research, prepare individual and corporate returns, and guide junior staff while maintaining strong client relationships and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional services firm is required.
• Knowledge of tax planning and filing processes is preferred.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.

Your role:

• Working closely with Tax Partners and other senior tax staff, to develop and implement tax planning assignments for clients
• Performing technical research and documenting tax plan recommendations
• Preparing individual and corporate tax returns
• Collaborate with peers and senior management on file planning and completion within time constraints
• Provide personal, attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships
• Identifying client service opportunities
  

What you bring to the table:

• Successful completion of the Common Final Evaluation (CFE), at a minimum, writing the CFE Fall 2026
• 1-2 years of experience in a professional services firm
• Tax experience considered an asset
• Experience leading junior staff on client deliverables
• Self-motivation with an ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Strong analytical skills and creativity to identify problems and potential solutions
• Strong proficiency in client-focused service
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting time lines
