Baker Tilly Canada is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant, Tax in Dartmouth, NS to join a collaborative tax team. The role involves developing tax planning assignments, researching tax issues, and preparing individual and corporate returns.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement tax planning assignments for clients with Tax Partners and senior staff.
• Perform technical research and document tax plan recommendations.
• Prepare individual and corporate tax returns.
• Collaborate with peers and senior management on file planning and timely completion.
• Provide client-focused service and identify opportunities for additional services.

Your role:

• Working closely with Tax Partners and other senior tax staff, to develop and implement tax planning assignments for clients
• Performing technical research and documenting tax plan recommendations
• Preparing individual and corporate tax returns
• Collaborate with peers and senior management on file planning and completion within time constraints
• Provide personal, attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships
• Identifying client service opportunities

What you bring to the table:

• Successful completion of the Common Final Evaluation (CFE), at a minimum, writing the CFE Fall 2026
• 1-2 years of experience in a professional services firm
• Tax experience considered an asset
• Experience leading junior staff on client deliverables
• Self-motivation with an ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Strong analytical skills and creativity to identify problems and potential solutions
• Strong proficiency in client-focused service
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting time lines
