Job summary

Burke Recruiting Inc. is assisting a Vancouver Island CPA firm in hiring a Staff Accountant for public practice.

This hybrid role on Vancouver Island BC offers a stable accounting career and work-life balance, with a 35-hour week most of the year and intensified March/April periods. You will prepare compilations using CaseWare, handle corporate/personal/trust returns, payroll, GST, and reconciliations, and communicate with clients to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of Canadian accounting/bookkeeping experience.
• Strong bookkeeping and accounting skills.
• Compilation experience preferred.
• CaseWare/Taxprep experience is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• CPA students and experienced accounting technicians are welcome.

Our client is a long-established CPA firm serving the North Island for over 50 years. We're looking for a motivated accounting professional to join our team and work with a diverse group of long-standing clients.

What you'll do:

• Prepare compilation engagements using CaseWare
• Prepare corporate, personal, and trust tax returns
• Handle bookkeeping, payroll, GST, and reconciliations
• Communicate with clients and manage deadlines

What we’re looking for:
