Job summary

BCCPA in Surrey is seeking a Junior/Staff Accountant with at least one year of Canadian public practice experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety of public practice and wants a stable, friendly work environment with long-term staff.

You’ll work with a broad range of clients, starting with bookkeeping, T1 personal tax returns and basic compilation engagements, with the potential to take on more advanced accounting and tax work as you grow your skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of Canadian public practice experience.
  • Experience preparing T1 returns.
  • Experience with bookkeeping and compilation files.
  • Strong accounting fundamentals.
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.
  • Experience with CaseWare, Canadian tax software, QuickBooks, Sage or similar software is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare bookkeeping and year-end files
  • Prepare T1 personal income tax returns
  • Prepare basic compilation engagements
  • Assist with T2 corporate tax returns
  • Prepare working papers and financial statements
  • Assist with GST/HST filings and CRA correspondence
  • Communicate directly with clients as your experience develops

We are a well-established CPA firm in Surrey looking for a Junior / Staff Accountant with at least one year of Canadian public practice experience.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety of public practice and wants a stable, friendly work environment with long-term staff.

You’ll work with a broad range of clients, so the work stays varied and interesting. The position will initially focus on bookkeeping, T1 personal tax returns and basic compilation engagements, with the opportunity to take on more advanced accounting and tax work if desired.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare bookkeeping and year-end files
  • Prepare T1 personal income tax returns
  • Prepare basic compilation engagements
  • Assist with T2 corporate tax returns
  • Prepare working papers and financial statements
  • Assist with GST/HST filings and CRA correspondence

What We’re Looking For

A CPA designation or CPA enrolment is not required.
