The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, conducting month-end and year-end closing processes, and performing balance sheet reconciliations. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial statements and providing analytical support for decision-making.

As a Staff Accountant You Will

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.
• Perform and maintain monthly balance sheet account reconciliations in a timely manner for most asset and liability accounts
• Correspond with other departments to ensure proper accounting for purchases and expenses.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Assist with the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate financial statements delivered by day 2 of each month
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including preparing depreciation and addition/disposal journal entries, year-end roll forwards, and all other fixed asset reporting
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing and prepare related reports: Metrics and other reports, as assigned
• Support other accounting and finance team members, inventory management, cost accounting, accounts payable.
• Archive financial records
• Support year-end annual financial audit by managing due dates and preparing required financial and tax work papers
• Support the preparation of the annual budget and monthly financial forecasts
• Assist the Controller with additional projects and ad hoc analyses as needed
• Back up for the full AP cycle
• Prepare and file tax forms with government agencies
  
  

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• Has a university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
• CPA Designation, or working towards
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information is required
• 5+ years’ experience working within the Accounting/Finance Department
• 3+ years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate to expert Excel skills and exposure to working with large amounts of data
• Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work
• Self-starter with excellent verbal and communications skills
• Possess strong analytical, critical thinking and judgment skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the company.
• Knowledge and experience in ERP or MRP business system, with JD Edwards experience preferred
• Experience using query writing software/tools is considered an asset
  
  

What We Offer You

• Typical pay is $59,000.00 to $81,000.00 annually.
