Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Staff Accountant, located in Markham, ON. The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks including preparing and analyzing financial reports, maintaining general ledger accounts, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Additional responsibilities include preparing and reviewing tax returns, assisting some supervision role to junior staff accountant.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting
• Experience preparing corporation and personal tax return preparation is an asset
• Proficiency in using accounting software and tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA designation or working towards CPA designation is preferred
• Previous experience in a public accounting firm or similar environment is an asset
