K3 Seeds in Iron Springs, Alberta, is seeking a qualified SR Seed Plant Operator to join our team. The role involves operating seed cleaning and handling equipment, maintaining records, and interacting with customers and truckers at our Iron Springs facility.

The successful candidate will have seed plant or grain handling experience, a valid driver's license (Class 5; Class 3 or 1 is an asset), and the ability to lift heavy items and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Seed plant, feed mill or grain handling experience is required.
• Class 5 Driver's License is required; Class 3 or 1 is an asset.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment.
• Solid understanding of seed handling, packaging and treatment processes.
• Must be able to lift heavy items (>50 lbs) regularly.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general equipment maintenance and maintenance planning.
• Monitor cleaning equipment and facilities.
• Adjust machinery settings to maximize cleaning efficiency.
• Operate forklifts, grain augers, tractors and trucks.
• Interact with retail clients and truckers.
• Load and unload customer trucks.
• Maintain records of incoming products and throughput.
• Sample grading during processing and cleaning for quality control.
• Plant and yard cleanup as required.
• Assist other plant personnel as needed.
• Seed treating and packaging.
• Must be able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):

• General equipment maintenance and maintenance planning
• Knowledge of various grains and pulses
• Monitoring cleaning equipment and facilities
• Adjusting machinery settings to maximize cleaning efficiency
• Operate forklifts, grain augers, tractors, trucks, etc

• Loading and unloading customer trucks
• Maintaining records of incoming products and throughput
• Sample grading during processing and cleaning for quality control

• Must be able to work independently

Skills and Qualifications:

• Prior Seed Plant, Feed Mill or grain handling experience required.
• Class 5 Driver's License required; Class 3 or Class 1 considered an asset
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment
• Thorough understanding of seed handling, packaging, and treatment process
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items (over 50lbs) on a regular basis
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Schedule:

• Full Time work
• Shift work and weekend work may be required (seasonal)
