We are seeking a highly experienced and bilingual Senior Plant HR Manager to lead and support all human resources functions at our manufacturing facility. This individual will play a critical role in labor relations, workforce development, and compliance with Canadian employment standards. The ideal candidate brings deep HR expertise, preferably in unionized environments, and excels at communicating effectively in both English and French.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic HR leadership and support to plant operations, driving initiatives in talent development, employee engagement, and performance management.
- Lead all aspects of labor relations, including union negotiations, grievance management, and collective agreement administration.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Québec labor laws and CNESST regulations, as well as broader Canadian employment standards.
- Develop and implement HR policies, training programs, and workforce planning initiatives to meet operational needs.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement in collaboration with plant leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for HR matters involving both English- and French-speaking employees and external stakeholders.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 7 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven success managing HR in a unionized setting, with strong labor relations experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Québec labor laws, CNESST regulations, and relevant provincial legislation.
- Fluency in both French and English—oral and written—is required to support a bilingual workforce and liaise with global partners.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CHRP/CHRL designation or equivalent.
- Experience with HRIS platforms and data reporting.
- Background in workplace health and safety programs, employee wellness, or DEI initiatives.
