Description

Our Sr. Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operational objectives. They oversee all aspects of operations at the site, including managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring to meet performance objectives, building positive employee relations, and developing leadership within the Fulfillment Center.

Responsibilities

1. Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and Lean initiatives to meet and exceed business plans.
2. Ensure overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience in either Inbound or Outbound operations.
3. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers, measure performance, and hold them accountable.
4. Leverage ideas from Operations and Area Managers to create improvement plans for the functional area.
5. Share best practices across departments, shifts, and the network.
6. Collaborate with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Sr. Operations Managers) to secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.

Additional Job Elements

• Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds.
• Perform bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching activities.
• Walk frequently in the FC, which spans over a quarter mile.
• Stand and walk an average of 5 miles daily.
• Work in environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, or not air-conditioned.
• Access all building areas safely, including ladders and stairs.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years Amazon experience.
• 7+ years of management experience in manufacturing, production, or distribution.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques.
• Experience with staffing lifecycle including hiring, performance management, and promotions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Experience managing a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle stressful situations.
• Interest in long-term career development across multiple FCs nationwide.
