Job description

As an HR Risk Specialist in Capital One Canada’s Human Resources team, you will be responsible for working with business partners to identify and consult on potential risks to Capital One, applying your risk/process management and analytical skills to drive well-managed risk activities. If you are curious, eager to learn, love problem solving, and have a deep reverence for risk and process management, this may be the role for you!

Responsibilities:
  1. Support FUSE management: Provide support to Canada HR and the Risk Operations team, learn new functionalities, attend user meetings, lead demos, and manage change.
  2. Support incident and event management in FUSE: Perform QA oversight, facilitate assessments, and update systems.
  3. Oversee Divisional Computer Based Training (CBT): Assign and monitor quarterly compliance CBTs.
  4. Control execution oversight: Manage control lifecycle, including creation, monitoring, and remediation of controls.
  5. Improve process health: Ensure visibility into control coverage and measurement against compliance policies.
  6. Reporting: Compile reports for management and the Quarterly HR Risk Report.
  7. Escalate risks: Ensure independent escalation of gaps and issues to executive management.
  8. Improve risk practices: Identify opportunities and develop solutions for risk management.
  9. Drive process remediation: Work with teams to address process breakdowns.
  10. Participate in risk forums and projects: Contribute to ongoing risk management improvements.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in project, process, program, or risk management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience in process management, BPM, Six Sigma, or Lean.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Risk Management and Human Resources.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Control Management.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and software skills.
