As Director, HR Operations, you will manage the day-to-day administrative operations of the HR department and use your passion for finding solutions and improving processes to help create effectiveness and efficiency. Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, you’ll join a group of peers in a newly formed team focused on helping the business streamline and standardizing all HR operations. You will need to showcase your skills to work on short-, mid- and long-term projects, demonstrating a clear ability to scope out and manage all portions of technical and people-based functions of the role.

Responsibilities

  1. Assess current HR processes and systems, identify gaps, then recommend and implement improvements and other enhancements to align with the HR and overall organizational strategy.
  2. Manage organization-wide projects that deliver an increased quality of HR services such as technology and platform implementation, particularly HRIS and third-party systems. Work very closely with Corporate IT.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues on the development and refinement of HR policies; conduct periodic auditing for review and updating for accuracy and ensuring compliance.
  4. Analyze and own the people-related data, ensuring accuracy and integrity, tracking efficiency and effectiveness of the varying policies, programs and initiatives within the HR Department.
  5. Collaborate and partner with the VP, Human Resources and Human Resources Leadership team to drive operational excellence and the development and execution of HR-related employee communications plan.
  6. Oversee the execution of employee experience initiatives, ensuring operational policies and processes are equipped to successfully support activities. Commit to the continuous improvement of a positive corporate culture and championing Kyocera as a great place to work.
  7. Manage, develop, and mentor the HR Operations team of 3.
  8. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. At least seven years’ relevant experience in a leadership position, and a minimum of five years’ people management, including remote employees.
  3. Project management certification and/or training a must.
  4. Previous experience successfully spearheading large scale, complex initiatives such as technology implementations, and organization-wide programs and processes, ideally with an HRIS or ATS.
  5. Ability to drive a project from conceptualization to implementation with exceptional attention to detail across short-, mid- and long-term basis.
  6. Highly effective time management, change management and communication skills, with added capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  7. Strong ability to use people analytics to create business cases, recommend and implement strategies that positively impact important people decisions.
  8. Excellent presentation, interpersonal and collaborative skills across all levels, with an ability to persuade and influence, maximizing your PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills.
  9. Up to date and working knowledge of HCM or HR systems, such as ADP WorkforceNow, iCims, and TrakStar. Comfortability learning and adapting to new technologies.
  10. Previous experience successfully partnering with and managing vendors to ensure SLAs are met.
  11. Familiarity with employment-related laws, regulations, and concepts.

Preferred:

  1. Advanced degree a plus.
  2. HR certification(s) a plus.
