Role Overview

As an HR Risk Specialist in Capital One Canada's Human Resources team, you will work with business partners to identify and consult on potential risks to Capital One, applying your risk/process management and analytical skills to drive well-managed risk activities. About HR Risk Specialists

HR Risk Specialists at Capital One are motivated professionals with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. They operate from a foundation of knowledge about the Line of Business, laws/regulations, processes, controls, and good risk management practices. They are forward-thinking, adaptable, and technologically savvy.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide FUSE management support to Canada HR and the Risk Operations team, including learning new functionalities, leading demos, and change management.
  2. Support incident management and event/issue management in FUSE, including QA oversight and system updates.
  3. Oversee Divisional Computer Based Training (CBT) assignments and monitoring.
  4. Provide oversight for Risk Office Governance activities, including control lifecycle management.
  5. Improve process health of RMAP control coverage for Canada HR, ensuring visibility and measurement of compliance.
  6. Compile reports for management and the Quarterly HR Risk Report.
  7. Ensure escalation of risk management gaps and issues to executive management.
  8. Identify opportunities to improve risk practices and develop solutions.
  9. Drive containment and remediation of process issues collaboratively.
  10. Participate in risk forums and contribute to continuous improvement.
  11. Execute other special projects for the risk office as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in project, process, program, or risk management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience in process management, BPM, Six Sigma, or Lean methodologies.
  • Experience in Risk Management and Human Resources.
  • Experience with Control Management.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and conceptual skills.
  • Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance software tools.
