Job summary

Enbridge Inc. in Calgary, AB, seeks an experienced accountant to support accounting, reporting and analysis for joint ventures across business units.

You will prepare and review journal entries, ensure regulatory compliance, and help drive sound financial outcomes. Requirements: CPA or equivalent, Bachelor's in Accounting or related field, 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with GAAP, ERP systems such as Oracle Cloud, SAP, SmartView or HFM, and MS Office.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public practice, technical accounting, or regulated utilities.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly/annual reporting.
• Analyze financial and regulatory reports, including income statement and balance sheet under GAAP.
• Communicate results, trends, and variances; resolve complex accounting issues.
• Support audits by preparing schedules and maintaining internal controls.
• Research accounting transactions and assess financial impacts.
• Collaborate with Finance and stakeholders on complex issues and cross‑training.

In this role, you will support accounting, reporting and analysis activities for our diverse joint ventures across all Enbridge business units. You will analyze and review financial information to maintain accurate accounting records, meet regulatory and joint venture agreement requirements, and help advance Enbridge’s financial objectives. What You Will Do:

• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial information supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.
• Analyze financial and regulatory reports, including income statement and balance sheet results, in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Communicate financial results, trends, and variances while identifying and resolving complex accounting issues.
• Support internal, external, financial, and regulatory audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and company policies.
• Research accounting transactions and assess financial impacts.
• Collaborate with Finance and business stakeholders on complex accounting issues, system implementations, process improvements, special projects, and cross‑training opportunities.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Hold CPA or equivalent professional certification.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably involving public practice, technical accounting, external financial reporting, or regulated utilities.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, regulatory compliance, financial reporting.
• Technically proficient using ERP and accounting systems such as Oracle Cloud, SAP, SmartView or HFM, along with the Microsoft Office suite.
• High level of business acumen, organizational ability, and analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the capacity to develop practical and innovative solutions.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, build effective stakeholder relationships, influence outcomes, manage competing priorities, and work successfully under tight deadlines.

Working Conditions:

• Office environment with recurring tight deadlines.
• Overtime is required and will vary depending on reporting deadlines.
• Minimal travel (<5%) is required.
