Job summary

Enbridge in Calgary is seeking an Advisor, OpEx and Joint Venture Accounting to support accounting, reporting and analysis for joint ventures across business units. You will prepare monthly journals, reconciliations, and regulatory reports under US GAAP, and analyze results to inform stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Hold a CPA or equivalent professional certification.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally involving public practice, technical accounting, external financial reporting, or regulated utilities.
• Good understanding of US GAAP, regulatory compliance requirements, and the regulatory process, including the preparation of supporting evidence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.
• Prepare and analyze financial and regulatory reports, including income statement and balance sheet analyses, in accordance with US GAAP.
• Analyze financial results, complex accounting matters, regulatory decisions, and emerging trends, clearly communicating their impacts to stakeholders.
• Support internal and external financial audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and maintaining effective internal controls.
• Collaborate with Finance, Regulatory, and business stakeholders on complex deferral accounts, regulatory proceedings, supporting evidence, schedules, and interrogatory responses.
• Contribute to special projects, system implementations, process enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining integrity, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
