Job summary

Enbridge Inc. in Calgary is seeking an Advisor for OpEx and Joint Venture Accounting to support accounting, reporting, and analysis for diverse joint ventures across Enbridge business units.

You will prepare and analyze financial information to maintain accurate records and help meet regulatory and joint venture requirements. The role emphasizes collaboration with Finance, Regulatory, and business stakeholders, handling journal entries, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally involving public practice, technical accounting, external financial reporting, or regulated utilities.
• Good understanding of US GAAP, regulatory compliance, and the regulatory process.
• Experience with ERP and accounting systems such as Oracle Cloud, HFM, SmartView, or Essbase, plus Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
• Prepare and analyze financial and regulatory reports, including GAAP compliance.
• Analyze financial results and complex accounting matters and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audits by providing schedules and maintaining internal controls.
• Collaborate with Finance, Regulatory, and business stakeholders on deferral accounts and regulatory responses.
• Contribute to system implementations and process improvements while maintaining integrity and compliance.
