Placements24 is seeking a qualified and empathetic Sports Psychologist to support athletes and teams in the Kimberley region of Canada. This role focuses on mental skills training, emotional regulation, and performance psychology to enhance athletic performance.

You will collaborate with coaches and sports organizations to foster resilience, improve focus, manage pressure, and promote mental well-being, while upholding ethical practice and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Sport Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Counseling Psychology.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with athletes and sports teams.
• Proficiency in evidence-based psychological interventions and performance enhancement techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
• Understanding of ethical principles and best practices in sport psychology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to identify mental and emotional barriers affecting athletic performance.
• Develop and implement individualized mental skills training programs, focusing on confidence, focus, and stress management.
• Provide counseling and support to athletes dealing with performance anxiety, burnout, and injury recovery.
• Work with coaches and teams to foster positive team dynamics and optimal performance environments.
• Educate athletes and stakeholders on the importance of mental health in sports.
