Job summary

Hypertec is seeking an Accounting Payables Specialist to join our Finance & Accounting team in Montreal. If you are motivated and collaborative, we’d love to hear from you. Join a global technology company delivering lasting impact.

In this role you will process high-volume vendor invoices, perform PO matching, code invoices, allocate costs, and maintain vendor records. You’ll support month-end close, audits, and ensure GST/HST/QST compliance while seeking process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in construction or a project-based environment.
• Experience processing high-volume invoices.
• Experience with SAP Business One and SAP Invoice.
• Knowledge of purchase orders, project costing, GST/HST/QST.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume vendor, subcontractor, and supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Perform two-way matching by verifying invoices against approved purchase orders.
• Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
• Allocate costs to appropriate projects, cost codes, and general ledger accounts.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies with Project Managers, Purchasing, and vendors.
• Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Support audits by providing accurate documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable tax regulations (GST/HST/QST).
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and efficiency.

What You'll Be Contributing:

What Sets You Apart:

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in construction or a project-based environment.
• Experience processing high-volume invoices.
• Experience with SAP Business One and SAP Invoice required.
• Knowledge of purchase orders, project costing, job costing, and Canadian sales taxes (GST/HST/QST).
• Knowledge of construction payment processes, including progress billings, holdbacks, and approval workflows.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, for reporting and reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
