PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Join the team as a Regulatory Reporting Specialist and help shape the financial story of CPKC. You’ll collaborate across departments to prepare and review key external disclosures—like quarterly and annual financial statements—while navigating US GAAP and Canadian/US regulatory requirements. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and regulatory filings under Canadian and US standards
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory accounting principles and reconcile differences from US GAAP
  • Perform journal entries, account reconciliations, and trace accounting transactions to source codes and cost objects
  • Partner with internal teams to gather, validate, and analyze financial and operational data
  • Support quarterly and annual statistical reporting, price index, cost of capital, and grain revenue calculations
  • Liaise with government agencies and monitor regulatory changes, assessing their impact
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and collaborate across departments to implement solutions
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, related fields, or relevant experience; Accounting Designation is desirable
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience, railroad related experience is desirable
  • Ability to work Excel to manipulate large sets of data
  • Application expertise (desirable): SAP, BW, BPC

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
