Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
• Familiarity with facilitative communication (e.g., picture communication).
• Ability to implement a visual schedule.
• Experience with record and data keeping.
• Ability to work as a team member under teacher direction.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with physical and mobility challenges and positioning.
• Ensure safe, respectful environment during personal care needs.
• Assist in student routines and use of assistive tech/equipment.
• Administer medications and related procedures per guidelines.
• Follow programs developed by speech pathologist, physiotherapist and occupational therapist.
• Record data and observations as directed.
• Provide transportation as needed for students.
