Job summary

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant to support students with exceptional needs within school settings. Under the Principal's direction, the EA collaborates with teachers and staff to implement programs, including autism support, and assist with related duties.

The successful candidate will hold a college diploma in Developmental Services Worker or Child and Youth Care/Worker (or equivalent) with 1–2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–2 years of related experience with school-aged children with special needs.
• Valid First Aid certification/CPR Level C is an asset.
• Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, TCI, and/or Behaviour Management Systems training.

Responsibilities

• Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities.
• Participate in pool programs, academic support, and special programs.
• Assist with physiotherapy exercises, toileting, and related activities.
