Job summary

Interior Health in Penticton is seeking an experienced Sonographer to join the Medical Imaging Department at Penticton Regional Hospital. You will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and collaborate with radiologists and cardiologists.

The department offers five Ultrasound Rooms and a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for professional growth and ongoing education. A permanent full-time role with rotating day shifts awaits the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a recognized/accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).
  • Current certification with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS as required for the practice area.
  • Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and related duties in collaboration with radiologists/cardiologists and other health care professionals.
  • Work in the Medical Imaging Department with multiple ultrasound rooms and interventional support as needed.

About the Job

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization and in accordance with the standards of professional practice, performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures/examinations and related duties working in collaboration with radiologists/cardiologists, physicians and other health care professionals. The Medical Imaging Department consists of five Ultrasound Rooms and services offered include: Screening Mammography, Diagnostic Mammography, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Radiography, Bone Densitometry, Fluoroscopy, and Nuclear Medicine. Generalist Sonographers at PRH work with GE and Philips equipment that was purchased in the last two years. Our team works closely with the Radiologist group for interventional work.

This is a Permanent Full Time (1.00) opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled rotating day shift.

Qualfications
  • Graduate of a recognized/accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).
  • Current certification with Sonography Canada as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Generalist and/or Cardiac) and/or current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Abdomen/Small Parts, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Cardiac, and/or Vascular) or be certified with Sonography Canada and have passed the Sonography Canada Skills Assessment (CCSA).
  • Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.
