Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Sonographer to join the Medical Imaging Department at South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver, BC. The role involves performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures in collaboration with radiologists and other health care professionals.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a recognized program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).
  • Current certification with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS for the assigned practice area.
  • Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures/examinations in collaboration with radiologists/cardiologists and other health care professionals.
  • Adhere to professional practice standards in a dynamic healthcare environment.

About the Job

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization and in accordance with the standards of professional practice, performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures/examinations and related duties working in collaboration with radiologists/cardiologists, physicians and other health care professionals.

This is a Casual opportunity

Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

Qualfications
  • Graduate of a recognized/accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).
  • Current certification with Sonography Canada as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Generalist and/or Cardiac) and/or current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Abdomen/Small Parts, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Cardiac, and/or Vascular) or be certified with Sonography Canada and have passed the Sonography Canada Skills Assessment (CCSA).
  • Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.
