Job summary

Interior Health in Cranbrook, BC, seeks an experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join the East Kootenay Regional Hospital team. The role involves working in General Ultrasound and Echo rooms in a fast-paced environment, with a rotating day/evening schedule, in a permanent full-time capacity.

As part of the Medical Imaging Department, you will contribute to a diverse caseload and community-focused care, with recruitment incentives and relocation support offered where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a recognized/accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Current certification with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS as required.
  • Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general ultrasound exams and specialized studies across General Ultrasound and Echo.
  • Operate and support the Echo and General Ultrasound rooms within Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Collaborate with the Diagnostic Imaging team to ensure quality patient care.

About the Job

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you would be joining a collegial and cohesive Diagnostic Imaging team. EKRH has three General Ultrasound Rooms and two Echo Rooms. Approximately 17,000 General exams are completed per year and roughly 3,000 Echo exams per year. Our community’s in Creston, Fernie and Golden offer Ultrasound services and scan ~3,000 patients per year. We are seeking to expand our services to include an additional Ultrasound room at EKRH and exploring potential ultrasound in Invermere.

This is a Permanent Full Time (1.0) opportunity.
Shifts of work will be scheduled rotating day and evenings.

Qualfications
  • Graduate of a recognized/accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).
  • Current certification with Sonography Canada as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Generalist and/or Cardiac) and/or current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Abdomen/Small Parts, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Cardiac, and/or Vascular) or be certified with Sonography Canada and have passed the Sonography Canada Skills Assessment (CCSA).
  • Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.
