Job summary

Viaggio Hospitality Group seeks a Sommelier/Manager for its Ambleside location to lead the beverage program with passion for food and hospitality. You will manage spirits, wine and cocktail offerings, ensuring top-tier service and guest satisfaction across a vibrant venue.

The ideal candidate brings 2+ years in a similar setting, holds a WSET certification, and demonstrates strong teamwork and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a similar hospitality setting.
• WSET 2 or higher is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages with a Serving It Right certificate.
• Willingness to learn new concepts and ideas.
• Efficient, with strong attention to detail and knowledge of cocktails.
• Open availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Share passion and knowledge for spirits and beer, with alcohol pairings and tastings.
• Demonstrate knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails and menu creation.
• Ensure quality control of the beverage program.
• Maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
• Managing inventory and bar stocking.
• Using Optimum Control to maintain inventory control.
• Continuously strive for superior guest satisfaction.

We are looking for a Sommelier/ Manager to work at our Ambleside location with the same passion for food and the hospitality industry as we have! The right candidate will have the opportunity to advance into other positions at Ancora or one of Viaggio’s other award-winning restaurants.

What You’ll Do

What You Have

• 2+ years of previous work experience in a similar setting.
• WSET 2 or higher required
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude.
• Must be the age of majority to serve alcoholic beverages with a valid Serving it Right certificate.
• Willingness to learn new concepts and ideas.
• Efficiency, strong attention to detail, and knowledge of cocktails.
• Open availability, including during business hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered.
