Job summary

SFM is seeking a Solutions Engineer – DJI Enterprise (Geospatial) to join our technical field team. In this customer-facing role, you will provide pre- and post-sales geospatial expertise across the DJI Enterprise portfolio, focusing on data acquisition, surveying, mapping, and drone workflows.

You will collaborate with resellers, sales, and service teams, deliver demonstrations and training, and travel across Canada to customer and partner sites, with occasional international travel for events.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years in a customer-facing technical role within the UAV sector.
  • Geospatial data acquisition, surveying and mapping workflows; photogrammetry, LiDAR, GNSS, RTK/PPK, GCPs, data accuracy validation.
  • DJI Enterprise technical or product certifications.
  • DJI Dock deployment or certification experience.
  • Experience processing geospatial data with DJI Terra, Pix4D, DroneDeploy, ArcGIS or similar.
  • Knowledge of enterprise drone platforms, payloads, sensors and data-processing workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian RPAS regulations, flight planning and safety.
  • Fluent in English and French.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, sales teams, and partners with troubleshooting and field support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to diagnose issues and ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of drone solutions and regulatory developments.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, technical workshops, and training for customers and partners.
  • Develop technical documentation and educational resources.

Job Statement

We’re hiring a Solutions Engineer – DJI Enterprise (Geospatial) to join our growing technical team. In this customer-facing, field-based role, you will provide pre- and post-sales technical expertise across the DJI Enterprise portfolio, with a particular focus on geospatial data acquisition, surveying, mapping, inspection, and remote drone operations.

You will work closely with authorized resellers, sales, brand management, service teams, and DJI to design solutions, conduct demonstrations, deliver technical training, support deployments, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and workflow-related issues.

Regular travel across Canada is required to visit customer and partner locations. Occasional international travel may also be required, including attendance at major exhibitions, training sessions, and industry events.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, sales teams, and partners, providing expert support, hardware and software troubleshooting, and minor field repairs, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with Service, Vendors, brand management, and internal teams to diagnose complex issues, coordinate resolutions, and ensure customer requirements and service standards are consistently met.
  • Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of the company’s drone solutions, including features, specifications, integrations, and applications, while staying current with industry advancements and regulatory developments.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, technical workshops, and structured training programs for customers, sales teams, and partners to enhance product adoption and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and educational resources, including user guides, webinars, tutorials, blogs, and best-practice materials.
  • Provide technical expertise to support sales and marketing initiatives, including customer presentations, proposals, solution design input, white papers, case studies, and other go-to-market materials.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback and field insights to support product enhancements, new feature development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in product testing, validation, and quality assurance processes to ensure performance standards and reliability.
  • Represent the company and its vendors at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, delivering technical insight and strengthening market presence.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a customer-facing technical, solutions engineering, applications specialist, or product specialist role within the UAV sector
  • Demonstrated geospatial experience, including aerial data acquisition, surveying and mapping workflows, photogrammetry, LiDAR, GNSS, RTK/PPK, ground control points, coordinate systems, and data accuracy validation.
  • Relevant DJI Enterprise technical or product certifications.
  • DJI Dock deployment or certification experience.
  • Experience processing and interpreting geospatial data using platforms such as DJI Terra, Pix4D, DroneDeploy, ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar applications.
  • Knowledge of enterprise drone platforms, payloads, sensors, software, and data-processing workflows.
  • Valid Transport Canada Pilot Certificate – Advanced Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian RPAS regulations, airspace requirements, flight planning, operational safety, and industry standards.
  • University degree or college diploma in geomatics, surveying, civil or geomatics engineering, GIS, computer science, or another related technical discipline. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, resellers, sales teams, and technical partners.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Canada as required.
