Description

Must Haves and Required Skills:

• 10 years' experience in creating technical project and user documentation, including procedures for electronic health-related projects, ideally with clinical software deployment experience.
• Subject matter expertise in HL7 V2, FHIR, XML messaging principles, techniques, and technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of Smile CDR Product and experience with Smile CDR Product Implementation.
• Advanced Cloud certifications in Azure or AWS are an asset.
• Expertise in design, implementation, operation, and support of products/services across multiple cloud environments.
• Knowledge of IaaS and PaaS components used in cloud-based products and services.
• Experience with migration strategies from on-premises to cloud environments.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, source control tools.
• Understanding of deployment, operations, and support best practices in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of security best practices and healthcare compliance standards (e.g., PHIPA).
• Experience with technical writing tools like Microsoft Office and Adobe Technical Communication Suite.

Responsibilities

• Validate EHR platform architecture for scalability, reliability, and security in cloud.
• Recommend and implement cloud-native development best practices.
• Review code for adherence to standards, optimize for performance and maintainability.
• Implement and support FHIR frameworks for interoperability.
• Identify improvements in APIs and workflows, propose cloud solutions, guide adoption of modern technologies.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and security policies.
• Contribute to platform enhancements, minimize downtime, and maintain data integrity.
• Document findings and technical guidance, work with vendors and internal teams.

Desired Skills

• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and experience with automation tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, Bicep.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, AWS Code pipelines.
• Ability to deploy and manage cloud systems, maintain expertise across providers.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
• Ability to make impactful decisions across the organization.

Required Experience / Evaluation Criteria

• 10 years' experience in technical documentation and electronic health projects.
• Subject matter expertise in SmileCDR, HL7 V2, FHIR, XML messaging.
• Advanced Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS).
• Experience with cloud products, migration, infrastructure as Code, and industry standards.

Deliverables Include

• Architecture validation, cloud-native recommendations, code review reports, FHIR evaluation, migration plans, performance tuning, comprehensive documentation, and knowledge transfer materials.
