Must Haves :
- 10 years' experience in the creation of technical project and user documentation, including procedures at the specified experience level with electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience deploying clinical software systems
- 5+ years experience as a subject matter expertise in HL7 V2 and FHIR, XML messaging principles, techniques, and technologies.
- 2+ years experience of advanced Knowledge in Smile CDR / Smile Digital Health Product and has SmileCDR Product Implementation Experience
- Recent Advanced Cloud certifications in Cloud Practices (Azure / AWS)
- 3+ years experience of advanced knowledge pertaining to design, implementation, operation and support of products and services operating in multiple cloud environments.
- Broad knowledge of IaaS and PaaS components leveraged to implement products and services operating in one cloud provider. Expert knowledge in multiple areas of focus.
- Advanced knowledge of migration approaches for moving legacy products and services from on-premises datacenter deployments to the cloud.
- Knowledge of coding practices as it relates to Infrastructure as Code, building and maintaining CI / CD pipelines and using source control tools.
- Knowledge of team and industry best practices as it relates to deployment, operations and support of products and services in the cloud provider.
- Advanced knowledge of security best practices as it relates to the cloud in general. As well as deployment, operations and support of products and services in the cloud provider.
- Knowledge of other IT systems and / or programs across OH and points of interaction or integration.
- Experience with a wide range of technical writing methods, tools and techniques and knowledge of industry standards and best practices
- Experience working in the public sector, preferably in a health care setting

Description
- Ontario Health's (OH) electronic health record (EHR) Modernization Program aims to modernize from on-premise solutions to a cloud platform to enhance efficiency and seamless integration of various data contributors.
- OH will engage a Cloud solutions partner to operate the EHR platform and provide innovative and robust solutions that will improve performance, cost efficiency and security while ensuring a smooth and efficient functioning of the cloud-based applications, data and assets. Through this engagement cloud partner in collaboration with OH will also employ tools and technology necessary to monitor logs, key metrics and provide time bound alerts and visualization while constantly making improvements to the solutions and processes involved. OH will define the integration requirements, business governance, change management, standards and data quality in support of migrating from existing on-premise to cloud.
- Ontario Health is seeking an Intermediate Solutions Designer to support the assessment, design and execution of the EHR Platform.
Responsibilities :
- Validate the architecture and design of the EHR platform to ensure scalability, reliability, and security in a cloud environment.
- Recommend and implement best practices for cloud-native development.
- Review code to ensure adherence to industry best practices and organizational standards.
- Optimize code for maintainability, efficiency, and performance.
- Ensure effective implementation of EHR Platform and fast healthcare interoperability resources (FHIR) frameworks to support interoperability and data exchange.
- Identify areas for improvement in FHIR APIs and related workflows.
- Propose and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging appropriate cloud services.
- Guide the adoption of modern technologies like containerization, orchestration, and serverless computing.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare compliance standards (e.g., PHIPA) and implement robust security measures.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of future platform enhancements or migrations.
- Ensure minimal downtime and maintain data integrity during transitions.
- Provide strategies for improving platform performance, including database tuning, caching, and load balancing.
- Work closely with vendors and internal teams to align development with business goals.
- Document findings, recommendations, and technical guidance.

- Ability to maintain in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies and tools for multiple providers, assist IT leadership in developing roadmap for cloud integration and strategies and ability to maintain expert knowledge in multiple areas of focus.
- Ability to work closely with members of the product team, and other teams to design and integrate cloud services, enabling secure operations in the cloud environment.
- Ability to collaborate with product team to deliver solutions using modern DevSecOps tools and best practices and take ownership of the build, release, and configuration management of applications.

Additional Terms
- Term - 1 Position for 249 days. Option to extend for an additional 249 days.
- Ontario Health assets including laptops and related equipment cannot be removed from the province of Ontario without prior written approval from Ontario Health.
- Assignment Type : This position is currently hybrid. The resource under this request will be required to work onsite as per Ontario Health's request.
