Job summary

Randstad Digital in Mississauga, ON is seeking a senior Software Engineering Manager (player-coach) to lead a small development team on-site. You will stay deeply involved in full-stack coding using C#, .NET Core, React/Next.js and partner with operations, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise applications for manufacturing and business systems.

The role requires 10+ years of software development experience with 3+ years of hands-on leadership, strong Azure and SQL Server

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3+ years in a hands-on technical leadership or managerial role.
• Advanced expertise in C# / .NET Core paired with strong proficiency in React.js and Next.js.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL, performance tuning) and professional experience with Azure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
• Background in manufacturing or industrial environment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small, high-performing development team as a hands-on Software Engineering Manager.
• Drive design and delivery of enterprise web applications in collaboration with operations, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Oversee full-stack development using C#, .NET Core, React/Next.js and ensure robust quality and performance.
• Foster an agile culture by leading ceremonies and ongoing process improvements.
• Mentor engineers, perform code reviews, and shape a high-performing engineering culture.
• Collaborate on DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps) and IaC (Bicep/Terraform).

Software Engineering Manager (100% On-Site in Mississauga, ON)

I am partnering with a premier leader in the manufacturing sector to find a senior, hands‑on Software Engineering Manager (Player‑Coach).

Our client is a stable, rapidly expanding organization with a growing, largely "greenfield" technical environment. This is a vital role where you can build high‑impact solutions from the ground up within a collaborative, supportive team culture.

This is a "player‑coach" position. You will lead a small, talented development team while remaining deeply involved in full‑stack coding. You will partner directly with operations, engineering, and business stakeholders to design and deliver enterprise applications that drive manufacturing and business systems.

• Travel: Occasional travel to offices in Brampton and Windsor.
• Compensation: $110,000 – $160,000 CAD (based on experience) + up to 20% annual performance‑based bonus.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Lead daily development activities, conduct code reviews, and foster a high‑performing engineering culture.
• Full‑Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust web applications using C#, .NET Core, and React/Next.js.
• Database & Cloud Management: Optimize SQL Server databases and manage cloud integrations using Azure (Logic Apps, Data Factory).
• AI/ML Integration: Utilize AI/ML technologies for data modeling and visualization to create intelligent, data‑driven solutions.
• Agile Advocacy: Lead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives) to ensure continuous, iterative delivery.

Requirements & Must‑Haves

• Experience: 10+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3+ years in a hands‑on technical leadership or managerial role.
• Backend & Frontend: Advanced expertise in C# / .NET Core paired with strong proficiency in React.js and Next.js.
• Data & Cloud: Strong expertise in SQL Server (T‑SQL, performance tuning) and professional experience with Azure.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
• Manufacturing Experience:

A background within a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly preferred for this role. If you have knowledge of MS Dynamics GP, Foy Systems EPICS, or shop‑floor integrations, you will be at a distinct advantage.
