Job summary

Vena Solutions is seeking a Software Development Co-op Student for a 12- to 16-month program starting May 2027. Join a fast-growing, cloud-native SaaS platform serving finance teams, with on-site Toronto, hybrid, or remote options across Canada.

You will work in an Agile Scrum team, contribute to real product features, and gain hands-on experience across full-stack development using modern tools and AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Registered with an accredited cooperative education program and available for a co-op internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features for our financial planning platform used by finance teams.
• Collaborate with full-time developers in Agile Scrum teams to design and deploy product improvements.
• Help identify and resolve production issues, improving platform stability.
• Take ownership of well-defined areas of our product and gain hands-on experience in full-stack development.
• Work with a modern tech stack including TypeScript/React front-end and Java/SpringBoot back-end microservices.
• Gain exposure to integration challenges across the Microsoft ecosystem (Excel, Teams, Power BI, Azure).
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to move faster and focus on solving complex problems.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Develop new features and functionality for our financial planning platform used by modern finance teams at scale
• Collaborate with full-time developers in Agile Scrum teams to design, build, and deploy meaningful product improvements
• Help identify and resolve production issues, contributing to platform stability and reliability
• Take ownership of well-defined areas of our product, building practical experience in full-stack development
• Work with our modern tech stack including TypeScript/React front-end, Java/SpringBoot back-end microservices, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure)
• Gain exposure to real-world integration challenges across the Microsoft ecosystem (Excel, Teams, Power BI, PowerPoint, Azure)
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to move faster and focus on solving complex problems
• Contribute to meaningful company initiatives including Hackathons, Guilds, and cross-functional projects that shape our product vision
• Learn best practices in modern SaaS development while working alongside experienced engineers
• Build a network and mentorship relationships in a culture that encourages innovation and ownership

We'd Love to See

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Registered with an accredited cooperative education program and available for a co-op internship
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for writing clean, maintainable code
