Vena Solutions is seeking a Software Development Co-op student starting in May 2027 for a 12–16 month program. The role offers on-site in Toronto, hybrid, or remote work within Canada, with an Agile Scrum team building a cloud-native SaaS platform for financial planning.

You will work across frontend (TypeScript/React) and backend (Java/SpringBoot), plus cloud (AWS/Azure) and AI-assisted tooling, gaining hands-on experience while solving real production challenges.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable code and solve problems.
• Curiosity for modern development tools and willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and functionality for the financial planning platform in an Agile Scrum setting.
• Collaborate with full-time developers to design, build, and deploy product improvements.
• Help identify and resolve production issues to improve stability and reliability.
• Take ownership of defined areas of the product and gain hands-on experience in full-stack development.
• Work with TypeScript/React front-end, Java/SpringBoot back-end, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).

Description

This is a 12-16 month co-op position starting in May 2027 and can be on-site in our Toronto office, hybrid or entirely remote in Canada. Join Vena Solutions as a Software Development Co-op Student and grow technically and professionally within a collaborative, high-performance team. Vena is an industry-leading financial and operational planning platform serving thousands of organizations globally, including enterprise brands. As a Microsoft Unicorn partner with $100M+ USD in annual recurring revenue, we're building a cloud-native SaaS platform that brings the familiarity of Excel together with enterprise-grade planning, reporting, forecasting, and AI-powered decision-making capabilities. Working remotely, or in our Toronto office, you'll join an Agile Scrum team where you'll contribute to real product features used by finance and business teams at scale, solve production challenges, and gain hands‑on experience in a rapidly growing scale-up.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Develop new features and functionality for our financial planning platform used by modern finance teams at scale
• Collaborate with full‑time developers in Agile Scrum teams to design, build, and deploy meaningful product improvements
• Help identify and resolve production issues, contributing to platform stability and reliability
• Take ownership of well‑defined areas of our product, building practical experience in full‑stack development
• Work with our modern tech stack including TypeScript/React front‑end, Java/SpringBoot back‑end microservices, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure)
• Gain exposure to real‑world integration challenges across the Microsoft ecosystem (Excel, Teams, Power BI, PowerPoint, Azure)
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to move faster and focus on solving complex problems
• Contribute to meaningful company initiatives including Hackathons, Guilds, and cross‑functional projects that shape our product vision
• Learn best practices in modern SaaS development while working alongside experienced engineers
• Build a network and mentorship relationships in a culture that encourages innovation and ownership

• Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary co‑op program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Registered with an accredited cooperative education program and available for a co‑op internship
