Vena is seeking a Software Developer Co-op to join an Agile Scrum team in Canada (Toronto option) starting May 2027 for 12-16 months. Work can be on-site, hybrid, or fully remote.

You will contribute to features for a cloud-native financial planning platform, using TypeScript/React on the front end and Java/SpringBoot on the back end, with AWS/Azure cloud infra. You will gain hands‑on experience, mentorship, and exposure to AI‑assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of defined areas of the product and gain full‑stack experience.
• Work with TS/React front‑end, Java/SpringBoot back‑end, and cloud infra (AWS/Azure).

Description

This is a 12-16 month co-op position starting in May 2027 and can be on-site in our Toronto office, hybrid or entirely remote in Canada. Join Vena Solutions as a Software Development Co-op Student and grow technically and professionally within a collaborative, high-performance team. Vena is an industry-leading financial and operational planning platform serving thousands of organizations globally, including enterprise brands. As a Microsoft Unicorn partner with $100M+ USD in annual recurring revenue, we're building a cloud-native SaaS platform that brings the familiarity of Excel together with enterprise-grade planning, reporting, forecasting, and AI-powered decision-making capabilities. Working remotely, or in our Toronto office, you'll join an Agile Scrum team where you'll contribute to real product features used by finance and business teams at scale, solve production challenges, and gain hands‑on experience in a rapidly growing scale-up.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Develop new features and functionality for our financial planning platform used by modern finance teams at scale
• Collaborate with full‑time developers in Agile Scrum teams to design, build, and deploy meaningful product improvements
• Help identify and resolve production issues, contributing to platform stability and reliability
• Take ownership of well‑defined areas of our product, building practical experience in full‑stack development
• Work with our modern tech stack including TypeScript/React front‑end, Java/SpringBoot back‑end microservices, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure)
• Gain exposure to real‑world integration challenges across the Microsoft ecosystem (Excel, Teams, Power BI, PowerPoint, Azure)
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to move faster and focus on solving complex problems
• Contribute to meaningful company initiatives including Hackathons, Guilds, and cross‑functional projects that shape our product vision
• Learn best practices in modern SaaS development while working alongside experienced engineers
• Build a network and mentorship relationships in a culture that encourages innovation and ownership

We'd Love to See

• Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary co‑op program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Registered with an accredited cooperative education program and available for a co‑op internship
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for writing clean, maintainable code
