Job summary

Vena is seeking a motivated Cloud & DevOps Engineer Co-op to join our SaaS Technology & Operations team for a 12-16 month term, starting May 2027. You’ll gain exposure to DevOps, platform infrastructure, and SRE practices while contributing to automation and reliability.

You’ll work in a diverse, agile environment with a chance to learn cloud security, monitoring, and deployment processes across our cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a co-op eligible program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Foundational programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, Java, or similar).
• Interest in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or security; eager to learn and tackle challenges.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to automation efforts that improve testing, deployment, or operational reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members in an agile environment.
• Assist with improving monitoring, coverage, and visibility of platform performance.
• Support team members with day-to-day tasks and document processes.
• Help harden cloud environments for security, stability, and compliance.
• Participate in DevOps, platform infrastructure, or SRE-focused tasks as assigned.
• Learn and grow across platform design, build, test, and operations.

Description

This is a 12-16 month co-op position starting in May 2027 and can be on-site in our Toronto office, hybrid or entirely remote in Ontario.

We're looking for a motivated co-op student to join Vena's SaaS Technology & Operations (STO) organization for a 12-16 month term. STO keeps our global SaaS platform running for some of the biggest companies in the world, including Nando's, Wells Fargo, and WWF (see what our customers have to say about our platform here). Depending on team placement, you may work alongside teams focused on platform infrastructure, DevOps, quality assurance, or security, getting hand-on exposure to how Vena designs, builds, tests, and operates its infrastructure at scale.

How You'll Make an Impact

• As a Cloud & DevOps Engineer Co-op within our SaaS Technology & Operations organization, you'll contribute to teams focused on Developer Experience, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering
• Contribute to automation efforts that improve testing, deployment, or operational reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members on features and implementation within an agile environment
• Assist with hardening initiatives that improve the security, stability, or compliance posture of our cloud environments
• Help improve monitoring, test coverage, or visibility into how our platform is performing
• Support other team members with their projects and day-to-day tasks
• Document processes and findings to help build the team's institutional knowledge
