Job summary

Brimacombe in Orono, Ontario seeks a Snow Groomer Operator to maintain ski surfaces and trails across varied weather. The role requires operating grooming equipment, performing safety checks, and coordinating with the Outdoor Operations Manager.

Training begins November/December 2026 with regular hours starting December or January depending on conditions. The successful candidate will be mechanically inclined, able to work independently, and comfortable with overnight and weekend shifts.

Job description

Position Type: Seasonal Contract, Full-Time
Hours of Work: Variable - Monday through Sunday – Overnight Shifts (including Holidays, as required)
Location:Orono, Ontario
Reporting to: Outdoor Operations Manager
Start Date: December 2026 (Training may begin November 2026)

We are currently seeking outgoing, customer-focused team members to help us turn everyday visits into wonderful winter memories. As a Snow Groomer Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining optimal skiing/riding surfaces on slopes and trails during all snow and weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate groomer to push snow and till slopes and trails safely and efficiently, in all weather conditions.
• Keep accurate records of daily maintenance and checks on machines.
• Perform safety pre and post inspections, completing all necessary documentation and checklists as per department standards, reporting any areas of concern to Outdoor Operations Manager.
• Report on trail conditions to Outdoor Operations Manager and other team members, as needed.
• Complete minor repair and maintenance on grooming equipment.
  
• Operate equipment as per Brimacombe's Safety Policies & Procedures, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
• Review all directed communications and take the initiative to stay informed of all Brimacombe activities including promotions, special events and marketing campaigns, as well as updates to procedures/policies.
• Ready to take on any challenge or help other team members when needed.

Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
  
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment and snow grooming
  
• Mechanically inclined with working knowledge of grooming equipment and systems (i.e. hydraulics, hydrostatics and implements)
  
• Strong communication and time management skills
  
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work evenings, overnights, weekends and extended hours as needed
• Must have valid G License with a clean Driver's Abstract
  

Hiring Timeline
