Job summary

Blue Mountain Resort in Blue Mountains, ON, is seeking an entry level Groomer I to maintain ski terrain on time and to high standards during December–March. You’ll operate groomer equipment on green and blue runs and assist senior staff as needed.

Ideal candidates have a valid G license, can work independently, and bring basic mechanical aptitude; grooming experience is an asset. Overnight 12-hour shifts and full-time hours are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-shift circle checks and post-shift duties including housekeeping.

This position is responsible for using groomer equipment and techniques that are essential to maintaining ski and snowboard terrain at Blue Mountain Resort on time and to the highest standards.* Groom primarily green and blue runs and at times assist Groomer Operators – II, Team Leads and Managers on Duty with more difficult terrain and builds* Perform pre shift circle checks and paperwork - post shift duties including housekeeping duties and mandatory paperwork* Recognize and report equipment issues and property damage* Work with a GPS system to improve decision making and increase efficiency* Recognize and report or repair potential safety issues including but not limited to lighting, signage, padding and/or poor skiing/snowboarding surfaces* Maintain a good working relationships and open communication with Snowmaking, Slope Maintenance, Patrol, Lifts, Terrain Park, Events and other on-hill staff**WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?*** Valid G License in good standing* Able to work independently* Previous grooming experience an asset* Mechanical skills an asset* Knowledge of Resort winter terrain an asset*\\*This role is being posted to fill a vacant position*
