Job summary

Magna International is expanding its Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting group in Newmarket, Ontario. The role focuses on creating and refining SMT programs, validating changes, and ensuring traceability across NPI and production transfers.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to optimize lines and reduce defects. Required is a Diploma/Certificate in Electronics or Mechatronics, 1–3 years of related experience, and training in IPC 610, AOI, and Oven

Qualifications

Diploma or Certificate in Electronics, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
1 to less than 3 years of work related experience.
Must be trained in IPC 610, AOI, and Oven Profiling.
Able to read values and correct polarity of Surface Mount components.

Responsibilities

Create, optimize, validate and maintain SMT machine programs, recipes, libraries and revision-controlled backups for NPI, engineering changes and production transfers.
Perform BOM, CAD/centroid, package, polarity, rotation, feeder, nozzle and machine-library verification before program release; complete first-off/first-article validation with the cross-functional team.
Set up, adjust and support solder paste printers, pick-and-place equipment, conveyors, reflow ovens, AOI, SPI, laser markers and associated traceability systems.
Maintain revision history, parameter-change records, controlled backups, setup sheets and other manufacturing documentation; ensure unauthorized program changes are prevented.
Troubleshoot line stops, defects, false calls, escapes, cycle-time constraints and equipment issues using structured problem-solving and data from SPI, AOI, machine logs and quality systems.
