Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a motivated, customer-oriented technician to maintain and repair small construction equipment in Edmonton. You will test engines, replace worn parts and document service details, while adhering to safety rules and contributing to a collaborative team.

Applicants should have at least one year of related mechanical experience; owning tools is preferred. Overtime may be required; a valid Alberta license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of related mechanical experience.
• Small Engine Technician, Motorcycle Technician or similar trade certificate (or equivalent work experience) is an asset.
• Experience working on 2 and/or 4-stroke engines.
• Must have your own tools or working towards building a complete toolset.
• Valid class G/5 driver's license with a clean abstract (asset).

Responsibilities

• Clean, lubricate and maintain a variety of small construction equipment and tools.
• Test and inspect engines for malfunctioning parts.
• Repair or replace worn, defective or broken parts.
• Assemble and reinstall components and engines following repairs.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Document all service and repair information accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.

You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.Comfortable with computers/technology (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.)Eagerness to continuously learn and stay up to date with emerging technologyAvailable and willing to work overtime as neededPhysical stamina and ability to stand for long periods .
