Responsibilities

  • Operate a skid steer loader to perform excavation, grading, and material handling.
  • Safely maneuver the skid steer in tight or confined spaces.
  • Load and unload materials with proper weight distribution.
  • Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation.
  • Grade and level surfaces with the skid steer.
  • Transport and distribute gravel, soil, or asphalt as required.
  • Inspect and perform routine maintenance on the equipment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Coordinate with crew to ensure efficient workflow.

Overview:

This individual is responsible for the operation of a skid steer loader to perform various tasks such as excavation, grading, and material handling. The successful candidate will ensure that they are carrying out assigned tasks/responsibilities efficiently and effectively. They will meet quality standards and production targets set by the organization. They will follow established procedures, guidelines, and best practices. It is important that they maintain open andconstructive communication with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders. Finally, they will show punctuality and reliability in fulfilling work obligations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate a skid steer loader to perform various tasks such as excavation, grading, and material handling.
  • Safely maneuver and operate the skid steer in tight or confined spaces.
  • Load and unload materials using the skid steer, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure placement.
  • Perform excavation and digging tasks, including trenching, backfilling, and site preparation.
  • Grade and level surfaces using the skid steer, ensuring proper slopes and smooth finishes.
  • Transport and distribute materials such as gravel, soil, or asphalt as required.
  • Assist in the installation and removal of construction materials, equipment, or debris.
  • Operate attachments and auxiliary equipment, such as buckets, forks, or sweepers, based on project needs.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks and inspections on the skid steer to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or maintenance needs to supervisors.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other crew members to ensure efficient workflow and task completion.
  • Follow project specifications and instructions from supervisors to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, equipment operation, and maintenance.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including the skid steer and surrounding job site.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and necessary training certification.
  • Adaptability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work effectively and safely as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience

Wage Range:

The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $28.00 and $35.00 per hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
