Job summary

Kimberley Alpine Resort seeks a Patroller to help keep our mountain safe for guests and staff. You will respond to incidents, provide first aid, and support mountain safety operations across the slopes.

You’ll conduct safety inspections, assist with avalanche control, manage patrol equipment and supplies, and collaborate with resort departments and emergency services to deliver timely, professional service.

Qualifications

  • Must possess WorkSafe recognized Advanced First Aid or Peak NUEC-A certification.
  • Strong skier or snowboarder able to navigate all terrain and snow conditions; ski/snowboard test required.
  • Physically capable of handling empty and loaded toboggans on all terrain; toboggan skills test required.
  • AST1, AVSAR1 or AvOps1 are an asset (not required).
  • Previous Patrol experience is an asset.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Minimum age of pro patrol is 19 years.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce mountain safety rules and guidelines.
  • Assist with avalanche control operations before, during, and after storms.
  • Maintain patrol equipment, medical supplies, and inventory.
  • Assist with lift evacuations and other emergency procedures.
  • Respond to incidents across the mountain and coordinate with other departments and emergency services.
  • Communicate professionally with guests, employees, and Patrol team.

As a Kimberley Alpine ResortPatroller, you will play an important role in maintaining the safety and well-being of guests and employees throughout the mountain. You will respond to incidents, provide emergency care, support mountain safety operations, and help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular safety inspections of the mountain, trails, and related equipment
  • Providing first aid and emergency medical care to injured or ill guests and employees
  • Safely transporting injured guests from the mountain using toboggans and other appropriate equipment
  • Promoting and enforcing mountain safety rules, procedures, and guidelines
  • Assisting with avalanche control operations before, during, and after storms, as required
  • Maintaining and managing patrol equipment, medical supplies, and inventory
  • Assisting with lift evacuations and other emergency response procedures when required
  • Responding to incidents and emergencies across the mountain and working collaboratively with other resort departments and emergency services as needed
  • Communicating effectively with guests, employees, and other members of the Patrol team in a professional and helpful manner
