Qualifications

  • Must possess WorkSafe recognized Advanced First Aid or Peak NUEC-A certification.
  • Strong skiing or snowboarding ability to navigate all terrain and snow conditions.
  • Be physically capable of handling toboggans on varied terrain and snow conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the mountain, trails, and equipment.
  • Provide first aid and emergency medical care to guests and employees.
  • Safely transport injured guests from the mountain using toboggans.
  • Promote and enforce mountain safety rules and procedures.
  • Assist with avalanche control operations as required.
  • Maintain patrol equipment, medical supplies and inventory.
  • Assist with lift evacuations and emergency responses as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and staff.

Job description

As a Kimberley Alpine Resort Patroller, you will play an important role in maintaining the safety and well-being of guests and employees throughout the mountain. You will respond to incidents, provide emergency care, support mountain safety operations, and help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
  • Conducting regular safety inspections of the mountain, trails, and related equipment
  • Providing first aid and emergency medical care to injured or ill guests and employees
  • Safely transporting injured guests from the mountain using toboggans and other appropriate equipment
  • Promoting and enforcing mountain safety rules, procedures, and guidelines
  • Assisting with avalanche control operations before, during, and after storms, as required
  • Maintaining and managing patrol equipment, medical supplies, and inventory
  • Assisting with lift evacuations and other emergency response procedures when required
  • Responding to incidents and emergencies across the mountain and working collaboratively with other resort departments and emergency services as needed
  • Communicating effectively with guests, employees, and other members of the Patrol team in a professional and helpful manner
Qualifications
  • Must possess current WorkSafe recognized Advanced First Aid or Peak NUEC-A certification
  • Must be a strong skier or snowboarder, capable of comfortably navigating all terrain and snow conditions; must successfully pass a ski or snowboard skills test to demonstrate ability
  • Physically capable of handling both empty and loaded toboggans on all terrain and in all snow conditions; must successfully pass a toboggan skills test to demonstrate ability
  • AST1, AVSAR1 or AvOps1 an asset (not required)
  • Previous Patrol experience an asset
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Minimum age of pro patrol is 19 years
