Job summary

BEST Service Pros in Toronto, ON is seeking a shift supervisor to oversee custodial operations, ensuring buildings look clean, presentable, and inviting. You will manage daily duties of light and heavy-duty custodians and ensure high standards.

The role includes training new hires, coordinating with shift managers, and upholding safety protocols and BEST’s culture. Salary is $45,000 annually with afternoon and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
• Knowledge of WHMIS and standard cleaning products, chemicals, and procedures.
• Basic computer and smartphone skills with MS Office.
• Ability to analyze, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily duties of both light and heavy-duty custodians.
• Train new hires and foster BEST’s culture, mission, and values.
• Maintain open communication with Shift Managers and Operations Leadership regarding staffing, safety, supplies, and business needs.
• Facilitate staff meetings to implement policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Maintain and secure storage areas and cleaning equipment/supplies for staff and public safety.
• Perform light and heavy-duty cleaning responsibilities including floor maintenance.
• Report equipment repairs and stock shortages.

Shift Type: Full Time, Afternoon Shift 3pm-11pm and Night Shift 11pm-7pm
Salary: $45,000 annually
JOB OVERVIEW:
You will be responsible for ensuring your building looks clean, presentable, and inviting. Some of the duties and responsibilities include maintaining common areas, and washrooms, mopping, sweeping, and wiping down the glass and other surfaces.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee daily duties of both light and heavy-duty custodians
• Train new hires and foster BEST’s company culture, mission, and values
• Maintain open communication with Shift Managers and Operational Leadershipregarding staffing issues, safety, supplies, and other related business concerns
• Facilitate staff meetings as required to implement policies, procedures, and safety requirements
• Maintain and secure storage areas and cleaning equipment/supplies ensuring the safety of staff and the public
• Perform light and heavy-duty cleaning responsibilities including floor maintenance
• Perform minor equipment repairs and report vandalism
• Report equipment repairs and stock shortages
• Other duties as required per business needs

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong verbaland written communication skills
• Good understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Knowledge of WHIMIS and standard cleaning products, chemicals, and procedures, is an asset
• Basic computer and smartphone knowledge with experience using MS Office programs
• Ability to effectively analyze, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous supervisory experience considered an asset;
• Ability to pass Canadian Background Check
