Job summary

BEST Service Pros in Toronto, ON is seeking a dedicated supervisor for custodial operations. You will oversee daily duties of custodians, ensure quality, and communicate safety policies from Head Office while maintaining team morale.

The role requires prior supervisory experience as an asset and the ability to pass a Canadian Background Check. Shift is Sunday to Thursday, 10pm–6:30am, with an hourly rate of 22.75 CAD.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily duties of light and heavy-duty custodians.
• Train new hires and promote BEST’s mission and values.
• Coordinate with Shift Managers and Leadership on staffing, safety, and supplies.
• Lead staff meetings to reinforce policies and safety requirements.
• Maintain secure storage and cleaning equipment areas.
• Perform cleaning responsibilities including floor maintenance.
• Report equipment repairs and stock shortages.
• Contribute to ongoing operations as needed.

JOB OVERVIEW:

You will be responsible for ensuring your building looks clean, presentable, and inviting. Some of the duties and responsibilities include overseeing daily duties of custodians, ensuring quality standards are met in all areas, facilitating staff meetings to implement safety policies, procedures and requirements, along with news, communications from Head Office and maintaining team morale.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee daily duties of both light and heavy-duty custodians
• Train new hires and foster BEST’s company culture, mission, and values
• Maintain open communication with Shift Managers and Operational Leadershipregarding staffing issues, safety, supplies, and other related business concerns
• Facilitate staff meetings as required to implement policies, procedures, and safety requirements
• Maintain and secure storage areas and cleaning equipment/supplies ensuring the safety of staff and the public
• Perform light and heavy-duty cleaning responsibilities including floor maintenance
• Perform minor equipment repairs and report vandalism
• Report equipment repairs and stock shortages
• Other duties as required per business needs

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong verbaland written communication skills
• Good understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Knowledge of WHIMIS and standard cleaning products, chemicals, and procedures, is an asset
• Basic computer and smartphone knowledge with experience using MS Office programs
• Ability to effectively analyze, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous supervisory experience considered an asset;
• Ability to pass Canadian Background Check
