Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a Site Supervisor to supervise yard operations, lead teams, and ensure health, safety and productivity standards. You will plan daily activities, optimize workflows and collaborate with management to improve processes.

We offer a competitive salary CAD 75,000–90,000 per year, vacation and benefits, an RRSP matching program, and an annual tuition scholarship program up to $8,500 for eligible dependents, plus tools and a dynamic, rewarding work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as supervisor
• Experience in metal scrap industry is an asset
• Ability to learn a variety of job descriptions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership and organizational abilities
• Familiarity with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
• Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement

Job Description

Reporting into the Site Manager, theSite Supervisorwill supervise, lead and control, in part, operational tasks relating to the yard. They will respond effectively to quality and productivity and health and safety requirements. They will see to the planning of operations and collaborate with management to continuously optimize and improve processes.

What you're responsible for:

• Setting goalsfor performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision and communicate them to subordinates
• Organizingworkflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
• Monitoring employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
• Maintaining timekeeping and personnel records
• Sharinginformation from upper management to employees and vice versa
• Preparingand submit performance reports
• Ensuringadherence to legal and company policies and procedures
• Undertakingdisciplinary actions if the need arises
• Leading by example as a hands-on manager

Qualifications

• You have experience in metal scrap industry (considered an asset)
• You have knowledge of different commercial trucks and forklifts
• You have the ability to learn a variety of job descriptions
