Job summary

Scott Builders Inc. is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead day-to-day site operations on commercial construction projects. This role oversees field execution, coordinates trades and contractors, and ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction practices, drawings, blueprints, specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Proven ability to lead safe work practices while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with clients, trades, contractors, and project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily site operations, including field staff, contractors, trades, materials, equipment, and construction activities.
  • Participate in pre-construction, project start-up, and site meetings to support planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Monitor project progress, schedule commitments, labour requirements, material needs, inspections, and site reporting.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
  • Promote and enforce company health and safety programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support cost control related to labour, equipment, materials, and overall site productivity.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to field teams, contractors, and trades.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, trades, and internal project teams.
  • Identify constructability issues, resolve site challenges, and implement practical solutions to maintain project progress.

Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current construction practices, drawings, blueprints, specifications, schedules, and budgets
  • Proven ability to lead safe work practices while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget expectations
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and its capabilities
  • Ability to identify root causes of issues and determine effective solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with clients, trades, contractors, and project teams
  • Working knowledge of Procore construction project management software, Microsoft Office, and related construction software
  • Valid provincial driver's licence required
Work Experience
  • 5 or more years of commercial construction experience as a Site Superintendent
