Job summary

ELAN CONSTRUCTION LTD in Calgary is seeking a Senior Site Superintendent with 10+ years of commercial construction experience. You will manage all aspects of projects, supervise trades, and maintain cost controls, while ensuring schedule integrity and high quality across the build.

The role requires strong client and owner relations, solid knowledge of drawings, and the ability to coordinate multiple trades on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten (10) years of experience as a site superintendent in commercial construction.
• Experience managing projects up to $30 million.
• Able to work in Calgary and surrounding areas with possible out-of-town work.
• Strong knowledge of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and civil components.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all construction work is performed to the highest standard.
• Supervise employees, subcontractors, and vendors for quality control and project compliance.
• Responsible for productivity of the worksite and monitoring progress and efficiency.
• Develop project schedule with the project team and conduct regular reviews.
• Collaborate with assistant site superintendents to ensure timely completion.
• Administer trades meetings.
• Adhere to safety regulations.

Job description

Senior Site Superintendents will be responsible for managing all aspects of a project from commencement to completion while utilizing the resources made available to them effectively. Additionally having strong client, trade and owner relations and cost control of general conditions. The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a site superintendent in commercial construction

Desired Skills & Experience

• Ensure all construction work is performed to the highest standard.
• Supervise employees, subcontractor, and vendors to ensure both quality control and project compliance.
• Responsible for productivity of the worksite and monitoring work progress and efficiency.
• Work with project team to develop project schedule and conduct regular reviews and updates as the project progresses.
• Work with assistant site superintendents and employees to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner.
• Knowledgeable with site work and building envelope construction.
• Strong knowledge of engineered drawings and all applicable construction trades.
• Experience in scheduling, cost control, safety regulations and managing multiple trades.
• Ability to administer trades meetings.

Ideal Candidate

• Minimum ten (10) + years of experience as a site superintendent in commercial construction
• Experience managing up to 30 million dollar projects.
• Able to work in Calgary and surrounding areas with the possibility of out-of-town work
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Projects, Outlook and Teams) as well as some knowledge of Bluebeam
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Strong communication skills-written, and verbal.
• Strong knowledge of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and civil components of a project.
• Journeyman Carpenter, Red Seal Carpentry Certificate is an asset.
• Clean drivers abstract that is consistent with company and insurance carrier standards and policies
