Qualifications

  • Minimum 15+ years of industrial maintenance, construction, or turnaround experience.
  • Minimum 8+ years in progressively senior leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial operations, workforce planning, maintenance execution, and contractor management.
  • Experience in oil sands, refining, petrochemical, mining, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
  • Journeyman Trade Certification, Engineering Degree, or Technical Diploma preferred.

The Site Manager plays a critical leadership role in the successful execution of industrial maintenance, construction, and turnaround work. As a key member of the operations leadership team, this position is responsible for overseeing site activities, coordinating workforce resources, supporting client objectives, and ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with operational and contractual requirements.

The Site Manager provides leadership and direction to supervisors, planners, schedulers, and field personnel while working closely with clients, project managers, safety professionals, and operational leadership. This role helps drive productivity, workforce engagement, quality execution, and continuous improvement across all assigned scopes of work.

As the senior site leader, the Site Manager is accountable for maintaining strong client relationships, achieving operational and financial objectives, and ensuring consistent service delivery across maintenance, turnaround, and small project execution activities.

What Would You Be Doing?
Site Leadership & Operational Oversight

Provide leadership and oversight for site operations, including:

  • Coordinating maintenance, construction, and turnaround activities
  • Managing site leadership and supervisory teams
  • Supporting execution of operational and project plans
  • Driving workforce productivity and accountability
  • Ensuring compliance with client and company requirements
Workforce & Resource Management
  • Planning and coordinating manpower requirements
  • Managing labour utilization and workforce deployment
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and workforce development activities
  • Providing coaching and mentorship to supervisors and employees
  • Promoting employee engagement and a positive team culture
Safety, Quality & Operational Excellence

Lead work execution in accordance with:

  • Safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Client expectations and operational standards
  • Quality control and inspection requirements
  • Environmental compliance requirements
Client & Stakeholder Management

Maintain strong working relationships with:

  • Client leadership and operations teams
  • Operations and project leadership teams
  • Planning and scheduling personnel

    • Journeyman Trade Certification in a recognized industrial trade, Engineering Degree, or Technical Diploma is preferred
    • Additional education in business, operations management, leadership, or a related discipline is considered an asset
    • Minimum 15+ years of industrial maintenance, construction, or turnaround experience

    • Strong knowledge of safety legislation, quality requirements, maintenance management practices, and client service delivery
    • Experience within oil sands, refining, petrochemical, mining, or heavy industrial environments is preferred
    • Effective communication, leadership, problem-solving, financial management, and organizational skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and maintenance or operational management systems
