Job summary

FLINT is seeking an Environmental Division Manager to lead Decommissioning & Abandonment services across Western Canada and Ontario. You will set strategic direction, ensure disciplined execution, and strengthen client relationships while delivering safe, compliant demolition and abandonment projects.

The role requires 15+ years in asset retirement with strong leadership, and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline with relevant technical training and leadership experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in industrial/environmental asset retirement, including well and facility abandonment, demolition, and site transitions.
  • Proven leadership overseeing complex, contractor-driven execution and multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the Decommissioning & Abandonment service line with strong operational performance and safe delivery.
  • Oversee complex abandonment programs including well and facility work, site transitions, and integration with remediation activities.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, develop proposals, respond to RFPs, and support growth strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders, representing FLINT as a trusted partner in asset retirement.
  • Collaborate with ARR C and WRC lines to deliver integrated environmental solutions.
  • Mentor multidisciplinary teams and promote safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Job Description

FLINT is growing its Decommissioning & Abandonment services within our Environmental Services division and is seeking an Environmental Division Manager to lead and expand this practice.

This role is suited for a proven operational and technical leader with strong business acumen and deep experience in asset retirement, abandonment, and site transition programs. You will be responsible for setting strategic direction, ensuring disciplined execution, strengthening client relationships, and delivering safe, compliant, and cost-effective demolition and abandonment projects across Western Canada and into Ontario.

What would you be doing?

  • Lead and grow the Decommissioning& Abandonment service line, ensuring strong operational performance, financial sustainability, and high-quality project delivery.
  • Steward execution of complex Decommissioning& Abandonment programs including well and facility abandonment coordination, demolition, site transitions, and integration with assessment, remediation and reclamation activities.
  • Support identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, including developing proposals, leading RFP responses, and supporting cross-functional growth strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, and relevant stakeholders, representing FLINT as a trusted partner in asset retirement.
  • Support cross-service collaboration with our two other technical service lines, Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Closure (ARRC) and Water Resources and compliance (WRC) to deliver integrated environmental solutions.
  • Mentor, develop, and support multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical diploma, trade-qualified professional, or related discipline with relevant technical training, certifications, and progressive leadership experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in industrial and/or environmental asset retirement, including well, pipeline, facility, and infrastructure abandonment, demolition, and site transition programs.
  • Proven leadership experience overseeing complex, contractor-driven execution, multidiscipline teams, and high-risk field operations.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and client requirements related to abandonment, demolition, and site closures, including construction interfaces, safety-critical work, and execution risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, margins, schedules, and resourcing across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with experience representing technical programs to senior clients, regulators, and partners.
