Job summary

FLINT is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Canada to lead multiple mechanical projects in the Craft & Corporate division, turning plans into successful outcomes while guiding teams toward safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

With 3+ years of project leadership experience in mechanical construction, you will develop comprehensive plans, manage budgets, and coordinate with area leadership to achieve strategic objectives and ensure adherence to schedules and budgets across projects.

Qualifications

  • Education in business management, project management, or related fields; Journeyperson is an asset.
  • Experience managing mechanical brownfield/greenfield construction projects, pipelines, and plant shutdowns.
  • Ability to read and interpret RFPs and technical drawings (electrical/instrumentation).
  • Proficiency with estimating, scheduling, and project management systems.
  • Experience analyzing project financial data and implementing performance actions.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with client representatives to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Execute contracts per client requirements and ensure scope is understood by management.
  • Oversee multiple projects, develop and implement execution plans to meet goals.
  • Assist in budgeting, manage changes, and generate forecasts.
  • Provide direction to the Project Controls group and address performance issues.

Behind every successful mechanical project is an Operations Manager (known in Flint as a Senior Project Manager) who knows how to navigate complex challenges, coordinate diverse teams, and deliver results that meet exacting standards. As our Project Manager in the Craft & Corporate division, you'll apply your mechanical expertise and leadership skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously—turning plans into reality while developing the teams around you. Your work will directly contribute to FLINT's 100-year legacy of building critical infrastructure that serves communities across Canada.

Reporting directly to the Area Manager, you will utilize your 3+ years of experience managing mechanical projects to lead the successful execution of each project. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive project plans and systems, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budget while receiving strategic support from the Area Manager.

What would you be doing?
  • Interface with mechanical client representatives throughout project development, execution, and completion to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Execute contracts according to the client’s requirements and specifications, ensuring the scope of work, terms, and conditions are understood and communicated to management.
  • Oversee multiple projects, ensuring execution plans are developed and implemented to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Assist in developing the original budget, managing changes, determining progress, and generating accurate forecasts.
  • Provide direction to the Project Controls group, formally evaluating performance, offering feedback, and resolving any performance-related issues.

Qualifications
  • Education in business management, project management, or other related technical fields; a Journeyperson certificate is an asset.
  • Experience managing the mechanical aspects of brownfield/greenfield construction, pipelines, and plant shutdowns.
  • Ability to read and interpret Requests for Proposals (RFPs), as well as technical, electrical, and instrumentation drawings.
  • Proficient in utilizing systems for estimating, scheduling, and project management.
  • Experience analyzing project and operational financial data, with the ability to implement performance action plans to improve results.
