Job summary

Bird Construction is seeking a Site-Based Project Coordinator to support daily construction activities and work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and trade partners. The role offers exposure to site operations, construction technology, and real-world problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a post-secondary construction-related degree or diploma and show strong communication, organization, and time-management skills, with proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Completed or recently completed post-secondary degree or diploma in a construction-related discipline (Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or equivalent).
• Internship, co-op, or early-career experience in a construction or project support role is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the preparation and execution of the overall work plan and project schedule under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Organizes and maintains project site files and documentation, including electronic document management systems and shared file platforms.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, document logs, and purchase orders.
• Assists with the review and tracking of subcontractor and supplier progress claims and payment documentation.
• Liaises with architects, consulting engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding design revisions, RFIs, RFQs, change notices, and general project coordination.
• Prepares for and participates in project meetings with the project team, consultants, and trade partners.
• Records, prepares, and distributes accurate meeting minutes in a timely manner.
• Assists with project close-out activities, including deficiency coordination and final document turnover to the client.
• Maintains awareness of project progress, risks, and issues and escalates items to the Project Manager as required.
• Provides technical and administrative support to the project team as needed to support successful project delivery.
